Written Examination Requirements!
MBLEx - Massage & Bodywork Licensing Exam exclusive as of July 1, 2008!
Effective July 1, 2008 all applicants for licensure must have taken and passed the MBLEx administered by the states via the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards. Applicants who have taken and passed a previously accepted board approved written exam prior to July 1, 2008 may submit proof of passing in lieu of the MBLEx requirement.

December Hearing Cancelled!
Board to vote on proposed changes to OAR 334 on January 16, 2009!
Over the past 4 years the OBMT Rules Committee conducted a comprehensive review of both Oregon Revised Statutes and Administrative Rules governing massage. This review was done to increase readability, update terminology and streamline processes.

The OBMT appreciates the valuable feedback we have received on the proposed changes to OAR 334. All of the testimony and comments received have been reviewed by the Board and in late September the rules committee met, reviewed all of the comments and testimony and, based on that information, made some recommendations for changes to the proposed rules. The Board reviewed and adopted these recommendations at the October Board Meeting resulting in Version 4 of the proposed changes to OAR 334. Version 4 can be found below. All change made from Version 3 have been highlighted in yellow for ease of identification.
Final Public Rules Hearing to be held on January 16, 2009!
A final public hearing on the proposed changes to OAR 334 will be held in the OBMT office at 9:00am on January 16, 2009. Anyone interested in providing written feedback or testimony on the proposed changes may do so up until the close of the public hearing on that day.
